NYD Convention

Apr 16, 08:30 AM CST

I had the good fortune of attending the Nebraska Young Democrats State Convention at Doane College on Saturday. Unfortunately I had to arrive late so I could drive a couple of friends who were working in the Unicam, so by the time I got there things were in full swing.

The convention was open to all Democrats under 36 years of age. There were delegates from all three CD’s, including UNL, UNO, UNK, Wesleyan, Doane, and others who were out of school; it’s great to see so many Young Democrats anxious to get involved in their Party. It’s also great to have a welcoming place for Young Democrats (like me) to come to meet like-minded friends.

Congratulations to Kyle Michaelis, the newly elected President, and to all the other young Democrats who showed up to participate in a great event. It looks like it will be another productive year for the NYD.

  1. I’m sorry Eric wasn’t able to spend the entire day with us, but it’s the effort the counts.

On behalf of the Nebraska Young Democrats, I just want to thank Scott Kleeb for joining us and delivering an absolutely wonderful opening address, as well as Don Eret and the Saline County Democrats for being so generous in providing us snacks and refreshments.

Finally, I encourage everyone to check-out our website for more photos of the day’s events.
