The 15th annual National Association of Letter Carriers National Food Drive is being held today (Saturday). All you have to do is put your non-perishable goods by you mail box, and the letter carriers will pick it up. The food will be will be delivered to your local food banks, pantries, and shelters. As Democrats, this is a perfect opportunity to help out those less fortunate then ourselves.

There was 70.5 million pounds of food collected last year, and it was the third year in a row that they collected over 70 million pounds. Since its inception in 1993, over 765.5 pounds has been collected to help feed families that need a little help.

This also helps our brothers and sister in the NALC with their efforts. This union has long been a strong supporter of Democrats, and we should help them in this wonderful effort.

The co-sponsors are the U.S. Postal Service, Campbell Soup Company, Cox Target Media-Valpak, local United Ways, the AFL-CIO, and America’s Second Harvest food bank network.
