Douglas County Party Open House

Jun 30, 04:43 PM CST

On Thursday, June 28, I attended the Douglas County Democratic Party’s Open House at the new headquarters, 7148 Pacific Street in Omaha. The County Party opened up their office and invited local Democrats for sandwiches, drinks, homemade chocolate chip cookies, and the opportunity to meet local elected officials.

The Douglas County Party showcased some of the exciting events coming up this summer and was able to recruit volunteers for the Presidential Caucus. It’s an exciting time to be a Democrat in Douglas County, and there are several ways to get involved. Visit the Events Center for more information how to get involved and please consider signing up as a volunteer for the caucuses.

Immediately following the Open House, the Central Committee held their June Meeting. I’d like to thank everyone in Douglas County for welcoming me to both the Open House and Central Committee Meeting, and for all the hard work you’ve put into your County Party!

  1. This is truly scary. Glenn Greenwald shows us that the New York Times is once again acting as a willing and unquestioning conduit for U.S. war propaganda, this time against Iran.

Claiming that the highest levels of the Iranian Government are planning fatal attacks on U.S. troops is the equivalent of pre-war claims that Saddam was developing nuclear weapons and actively working with Al Qaeda. What credibility could the NYT possibly have in claiming to regret so mindlessly passing on the latter when, now, they allow and encourage Gordon to pass along the former with equally slavish mindlessness? “Journalism” of this sort is a true menace, and though it probably shouldn’t be, it is still just staggering to watch it spew forth day after day.
