Funeral Arrangements Set for Congressman Hoagland

Nov 01, 09:01 AM CST

Funeral services for former Nebraska Congressman and State Senator Peter Hoagland will be held this Saturday in Omaha. The public service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 113 N. 18th St.

It is fitting that he will be laid to rest in the city and state he always called home.

In lieu of flowers, Peter’s family requests that memorials be sent to the Parkinson’s Action Network, on the web at www.parkinsonsaction.org.

Gov. Dave Heineman today ordered that all U.S. and state flags in Nebraska be flown at half-staff on Saturday, Nov. 3, in honor of the life and service of Congressman Hoagland.

Rep. Hoagland, 65, served Nebraska’s Second Congressional District, located primarily in the Omaha area. He died Tuesday following a long battle with Parkinsons disease.
