Refuting Smith's SCHIP Claims

Nov 05, 10:44 AM CST

“Lisa Hannah Day” continues here on the Blog for Nebraska –– for good reason.

Not only did Lisa expose Adrian Smith’s fear of his record, but today the Grand Island Independent published her editorial refuting Smith’s arguments against SCHIP.

Here’s a small sample:

CLAIM #1 – The current SCHIP bill would make it possible for illegal immigrants to receiving federal benefits.

FACT – Sec. 605 says, “Nothing in this Act allows Federal payment for individuals who are not legal residents.” Further, funds could be denied if this does occur at the state level.

Lisa’s doing great work. Make sure to visit her blog and post a comment expressing your thanks!

  1. Keep up the good work Lisa! Let’s make Adrian a One-Termer. A congressman should be someone who is at least able to compramise, rather than being a little lap-dog of a party.

  2. Lisa Hanna is doing an outstanding job of holding Adrian Smith’s feet to the fire. She digs in deep, gets the facts, and calls the shots as she sees them. These are the traits of someone I could easily support as a candidate for the House from CD3.

I say that everyone who can help Lisa decide to run against Adrian Smith next year start by encouraging her to do so. Then, once we’ve convinced her, those of you with deep pockets need to help her financially; those of us without need to get ready to do the grunt work to get her elected.

I don’t think there is anything in this state that could strike sheer terror into the heart of Adrian Smith like seeing Lisa Hannah enter the race against him.

    RUN, LISA, RUN!
