
Jason Bowman To Announce for Legislature

The Sioux City Journal reports that South Sioux City Councilman Jason Bowman will announce for legislature in LD 17 today:
Bowman, 38, is a life-long resident of South Sioux City and a third-term Council member, works as an union electrician. He graduated from South Sioux City Senior High School in 1988 and later served in the military in Operation Desert Storm. He attended classes through the University of Maryland before completing his Iowa Electrical Apprenticeship Program in 2000. He has worked as a union electrician since then.
Bowman, a Democrat, will face Democratic Mayor Bob Giese and Republican farmer Bob Garwood in the May primary. Current Republican Senator Pat Engel cannot run for re-election due to term limits.
