Envisioning a New Nebraska

Dec 04, 09:40 AM CST

Scott Kleeb released a message last night to supporters throughout Nebraska. Click on the player below to view.

Here is a portion of Scott’s inspiring message:

Last year changed my life. Our campaign brought new people into the political process and gave so many a renewed sense of hope for the future of our state. Together, regardless of party, age or place, we together envisioned a new Nebraska and breathed new life into our democracy….

To see so many people interested and excited about building on last year’s start renews my faith in our country, our state, and our people, but this is no easy choice. Politics is among the noblest of callings if done for the right reasons, but it is not easy….

Even with each of us giving everything we have, there is never a guarantee that our ambition and our hope for a new brand of politics will indeed prevail….My family and I are honestly asking ourselves now whether the time is right for us to make another run for public office….

If we all decide the time is now, we will have to give it our all, and we will. No matter what we all decide, let’s resolve to continue to build a new Nebraska in the new year.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

  2. I cannot believe that this thread sits here on the left side of the screen and Lifelong Republican Tony Raimondo’s endorsement is staring at me from the right! Un-freaking-believable!

  3. Tell me what you learned out on the road last year that would pull you into this political process. I’m listening…

  4. Ya know, if we could run a semi-binding Senate primary straw vote between these two at our February 9th caucuses we could really increase our attendance and interest level.

  5. Robert,
I learned that it costs more to campaign than I have expendable cash reserves. If you’d bankroll me, I’m in. Otherwise I don’t like the idea of our party being used by a Republican opportunist that just wants to make an end run around the Republican primaries.

  6. Steve, I don’t think Tony and his Beltway friends would much care for that result…

  7. This evening, members of the ongoing Lincoln Democracy for America group are going to gather and talk about the upcoming election.

I’m sure we’ll have a frank discussion about Scott Kleeb and Tony Raimondo.
