Senator Gwen Howard Kicks-Off Re-Election Bid

State Senator Gwen Howard kicked off her re-election campaign for Legislative District 9 on Sunday at Gerda’s Bakery in Omaha. Senator Howard is a member of the Human Services Committee and the Education Committee, and has been an advocate for children and the middle class in the Unicameral.

In 2007, Senator Howard worked on anti-bullying legislation and legislation protecting children in Nebraska’s foster care system.

Senator Howard has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Nebraska and is also an adoption specialist. You can learn more about her on her website.

Legislative District 9 is in eastern Douglas County, and covers midtown Omaha from Cuming & Dodge Streets to Vinton Street, between 24th and 68th streets.

Senator Howard is also the Temporary Caucus Chair for the LD 9 Presidential Caucus in Douglas County, which is at Norris Middle School on February 9th.
