Feb 29, 09:41 AM CST

Nancy Intermill of Lincoln will formally kick off her candidacy for the 4th District seat on the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners at Brewsky’s – East on Friday, March 14th.

Intermill, 56, is President of Lincoln-based Accountable Solutions, and is an independent beverage distributor.

In running for office, Intermill hopes to bring her many years of leadership experience in government and the private sector to:
Provide adequate infrastructure that can support growth,
deliver services that provide for the health, safety and well-being of all county residents, and operate the county efficiently as to avoid excess taxation.

“When my husband and I chose to move our family here in 1990, we came to a community that was vibrant and on the move,” said Intermill. “Now the county is at a crossroads – moving toward growth and improved quality of life; or stagnation, higher tax rates and declining services. I want to work with the citizens and leaders of Lancaster County to transform our county into a vital community where our children will choose to stay and build strong families.”

Intermill has served in leadership roles with multiple educational, government and community organizations over the years, including Nebraska Health and Human Services, the Great Plains Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and Nebraska Wesleyan University.

She serves on the Board of Directors of multiple community organizations, including the Nebraska League of Women Voters and the Lincoln/Lancaster League of Women Voters. Previously she has served on the boards of the Lincoln YWCA, the Lincoln Jewish Federation, and Friends of the Lincoln/Lancaster Women’s Commission. In 2005, Intermill was appointed to the Nebraska Women’s Health Advisory Committee by Governor Dave Heineman. She is a past President of Nebraska Professional and Business Women, Inc. and the Lincoln/Lancaster Women’s Commission. Nancy is also a past Trustee of the Lincoln Women’s Club.

Nancy and Mark, her husband of 29 years reside at 4010 B Street in Lincoln. They have two grown children, Micah and Jessica.
