  1. Thanks for the announcement. Don’t miss this chance to help kickstart the campaign that will cause Jeff Fortenberry to pack up those carpet bags and seek solace in the business world. Max is one in a million. Our Congress needs a Democratic Marine Sarge from Nebraska. Help a great kid make this a better country. This is a sound investment .

  2. Since there isn’t a blog topic for this yet, I figured I would post my thoughts on today here because Mr. Yashirin is a Iraqi Vet.

I’m angry! I’m angry at President Bush for being unconscionable with American lives. I’m angry that he mislead us into this war. I’m angry at the voters who re-elected this baffoon. When the “Republican Revolution” happened in the 90’s, pundits called it the “Year of the Angry White Voter.” I think this year should be designated as the “Year of Angry Americans.”

We can’t make the same mistake again in 2008 with electing McCain, Nebraska! We can’t afford another 4 years with this nonsense. When will we as Nebraskans wake up from the illusion that voting Republicans in office is in our best interest?! I was raised to believe that you vote for the best candidate, regardless of political party. I understand that the so called “Surge” is working but at to what cost? 4,000 Americans died in this war. 4,000 too many. We’ve lost much more than just Americans too. We’ve lost our moral integrity. We’ve lost our prominence. Shall I dare say that we’ve lost our soul?

I am angry because I feel that Congress is ignoring the very constituents who elected them. 2006 was a vote against the war. And our Senators and Represenatives are still funding this ill-gotten war. I don’t know how you feel but I hope that you agree with me that this coming November isn’t coming soon enough!

  3. Luke, I had to turn my anger into something else because the anger was eating my soul.

Today, I was talking with a local businessman about the slow economy. He stated that his sales were slower than even the eighties. I said, “Ya know, things will improve when we get Democrats back in the White House and both Houses of Congress.” He said he always had considered himself a Democrat, but had never voted. I invited him, his wife and his son to fill out the registration forms I carry in the crummy ol’ truck. I explained where to drop off the forms, (just across the block and around the corner). Also told them about Vote By Mail, and promised to follow up to make sure all goes well.
I made a new friend, and Nebraska is a better place because of 3 new Democrats.

Folks, It’s Harvest Time! Nebraskans are angry, weary, and short on cash, thanks to the cruds who took over the Executive Branch 8 years ago. Put those grassroots skills to work. Be fearless, Lay out the facts, make the invitation, and offer a hearty welcome to the Democratic Party and a new America. Bushcorp has given us the opportunity of a lifetime to build our Party. Jump on it, just for our children’s sake.
