2008 Morrison-Exon Award Nominations

The NDP is now accepting nominations for awards at the 2008 Morrison-Exon Dinner. Please email your nominations to clara@nebraskademocrats.org.

Bob Kerrey 1st District Volunteer Award:

Nominees for this award should be a volunteer who personifies the spirit of the Nebraska Democratic Party. The award is given to an individual who is tireless in supporting the Nebraska Democratic Party activities and campaigns for Democratic candidates, and creates a positive image of the party and its candidates within the 1st District.

Bob Kerrey 2nd District Volunteer Award:

JFK Award:

Nominees for this award should be a young person honored for their exceptional volunteer activities and participation within the Party. This individual must also be active in energizing other young Democrats with Nebraska Democratic Party ideals and principles. Nominees do not have to be specifically affiliated with an organized Young Democrat group.

FDR Award:

Nominees should be a volunteer who personifies the spirit of the Nebraska Democratic Party. The award is given to an individual who is tireless in supporting the Nebraska Democratic Party activities and campaigns for Democratic candidates, and creates a positive image of the party and its candidates.

Hall of Fame Award:

Nominees should be elected officials who are dedicated to the principles of the Nebraska Democratic Party and who have contributed above and beyond the call of duty to the Nebraska Democratic Party and Democratic candidates for public office.

Morrison/Exon Award:

Nominees for this award should be a County Party officer who has worked tirelessly to promote the activities and values of the Democratic Party in their county and throughout the state. This individual should have served, or continues to serve as an officer of their county party in the last year. Nominees should demonstrate a dedication to service, integrity, the organizing of their county party infrastructure, and support for local Democratic candidates.

John and Marge Kissack have been very active democrats and helped in various County offices in Scotts Bluff, County

Carolee Koehn has bben active as Chair of Scotts Bluff County and helped get caucus sites set up in the county and neighboring counties as well

I think that Kris Pierce of Douglas County Democratic Party definitely deserves an award this year. He has done a tremendous job as the ED here in Omaha. We are a stronger party and have registered almost 6000 new Democrats because of the great Caucus he and Douglas County put on. He has definitely brought Democrats back to the Party and we are seeing more and more new active faces all the time.

On Thursday, the monthly meeting went to Elkhorn and they had over 80 people there, that says something.

I hope the State Party recognizes his hard work and dedication to not only the Democrats in Omaha, but all over Nebraska.
