Esch Kicks Off Campaign

Apr 03, 10:43 AM CST

Jim Esch kicked off his campaign yesterday.

I couldn’t make it, but Dave Sund has a first-hand account on NNN:

Jim Esch held his campaign kickoff at the IBEW Hall in Omaha, Nebraska tonight. Former Congressman John Cavanaugh and Public Service Commissioner Anne Boyle kicked off the event, and introduced Jim Esch to an enthusiastic crowd of supporters.

Esch laid out his vision for this race, which he says will be about change and leadership in Washington. The former was a key theme of Esch’s last campaign for Congress, while the latter has been sorely lacking from Rep. Lee Terry.

Air Force Reserve Captain Richard Carter is also running and will face Esch in the primary.

WOWT featured a news story about the Democratic primary. You can see video of the story on the right side of the page.

The Nebraska Democratic Party does not endorse candidates in a contested primary race. We attempt to provide the same opportunities to all candidates.

  1. Carter actually unveiled his plan for Iraq that night. It was all over the news.

Here is a link to his speech:
