Anniversary of "Mission Accomplished"

May 01, 08:11 AM CST

Today is the fifth anniversary of President Bush’s declaration that our major military operations in Iraq had ceased. He did so on the deck of the USS Lincoln under the now-infamous “Mission Accomplished” Banner.

Unfortunately, just because President Bush will be leaving office in January doesn’t mean we’re in for improvement:

“I don’t think Americans are concerned if we’re (in Iraq) for 100 years or 1,000 years or 10,000 years.”
– Senator John McCain, 1/6/2008

  1. We do care and we do remember and that memory will be expressed in May and again in November when the torch will be passed to a new generation!
