Max Yashirin's Convention Speech

This year’s State Convention was held in Fremont, and First District candidate for Congress Max Yashirin took advantage of the opportunity:

As the Fourth of July nears, Max Yashirin is thinking a lot about the country’s forefathers—and he’s been asking what they would think about the current state of America.

“What would they say about the Patriot Act and the sad state of our civil liberties?” asked Yashirin, the Democratic candidate for the 1st District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. “What would they think about our country holding people for an indefinite period of time without due process? … What would they say about an illegal war of aggression on a country that didn’t attack us?

“I think they would say, ’America, we need a change and we need it now.”
