More Convention Speech Coverage

Both Senator Nelson and Scott Kleeb gave a couple of the best speeches I’ve seen either of them give on Saturday and Sunday. Don Bowen of the Fremont Tribune covered both of them.
“Change is the word of the day and the word of the future,” Nelson said. “Change is what all of us are looking for in Washington.”
Nelson highlighted the growth of the party during the past two years. Democrats have picked up more than 15,000 registered voters.
“Our nation has been defined by moments,” Kleeb told delegates to the Nebraska Democratic Party state convention Sunday morning. “Moments like the speech that Martin Luther King gave when he said ‘I have a dream.’ Moments like the words on the moon that said simply ‘One small step for man; one giant leap for mankind.’ Moments that defined who we are and what we are willing to stand for.
“This year, in 2008, we know that we are at one of those moments,” he added. “When on Nov. 4 we can call Sen. Barack Obama president-elect, we know it will be one of those moments.”
