Esch Unveils Economic Plan
Aug 20, 05:24 PM CST
The World-Herald covered Jim Esch’s economic plan:
Esch proposed strengthening America’s infrastructure, developing a “green” economy and enhancing the small business sector.
Esch also said he has created a small business task force to examine issues faced by owners and employees.
He took a shot at the incumbent, saying Terry and others have spent years in office but haven’t moved to help workers.
“Nothing’s been done over the last eight years, and everyone knew that these things were coming — or at least had a good idea that they were,” Esch said, pointing to rising energy and health care costs, and problems in the mortgage industry.
The Democrat noted that Terry in 2000 held a roundtable on predatory lending but said the congressman hasn’t taken action to solve the problem.
“I think it’s fundamental to this election that we need to elect new leadership,” he said.
