Senator Ben Nelson:

“Barack Obama’s selection of Joe Biden as his vice presidential running mate is an excellent choice. Joe has been chairman of two major Senate committees and has extensive foreign policy background. He has a record of bipartisanship, which is desperately needed in Washington today, and would work well with both parties in Congress. With his background and experience Joe would be more than capable of fulfilling the duties of President.”

Chairman Howard Dean:

“Senator Obama has made an outstanding selection in Joe Biden. Joe Biden is a strong leader, fierce advocate, and devoted family man with values rooted in the best of what America stands for. He will be a strong partner with Barack Obama in bringing the change America wants and needs.

“Delegates here in Denver are already buzzing with strong enthusiasm for the Obama- Biden ticket.

“Senator Obama’s selection shows that unlike the Bush-McCain way of doing politics, Obama is not afraid to have strong people around him helping to lead our great country.

“Together they will serve America well over the next eight years, and our Party is ready to rally behind them and put them on the path to the White House starting right here in Denver.”

Senator Hillary Clinton:

“In naming my colleague and friend Senator Joe Biden to be the Vice Presidential nominee, Senator Obama has continued in the best traditions for the Vice Presidency by selecting an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant. Senator Biden will be a purposeful and dynamic Vice President who will help Senator Obama both win the Presidency and govern this great country.”

  1. This is off topic but is there a house party that I could go to in order to see Obama’s speech for accepting the nomination? I’m really wanting to see history in the making since I am not apart of the Nebraska Democratic delegation and can’t witness the event in person.

  2. Luke,

You might try checking the Events Center both here on the NDP page and on Obama’s site. There are a number of watch parties up on both sites. For example, LD 12 (Ralston/Millard area) Democrats are hosting a watch party at Sean O’Casey’s at 107th & Q in Omaha.

  3. LD8 (Douglas County) Dems invite other Dems, friends and family to watch Barack at 7:00 at Mama’s Pizza, 715 North Saddle Creek Road.

  4. President Obama rocked a packed house tonight at Randy’s Grill and Chill in Lincoln. Thanks, Nebraska Dems for the use of the Event Center.
