National Bush Legacy Bus Tour Comes to Lincoln
Aug 28, 08:21 PM CST
The Bush Legacy Tour Bus will be in Lincoln tomorrow (Saturday, August 30) by the Cornhusker Hotel.
From Americans United for Change:
On Saturday, August 30th, the national Bush Legacy Tour will make its latest stop in Lincoln on 12th Street between L and M Streets starting at 2 pm – on the way to St. Paul for the Republican National Convention next week – the Lion’s den of conservatism. In Lincoln, the people of Nebraska will be given an opportunity to reflect on how 8 years of failed Bush/conservative policies have left an economy in shambles, millions more without health insurance, an endless and mismanaged war in Iraq that has stretched our military to the breaking point, and thousands each day losing their jobs, their homes, and their dignity. The bus will be available to the media and open to the public from 2pm – 6pm. AUFC will hold Rep. Fortenberry accountable for voting in lockstep with the President 79 percent of the time, according to Congressional Quarterly.
The Bush Legacy Tour kicked off in Washington D.C. on June 24th and will travel coast-to-coast throughout the summer, making nearly 150 stops throughout the nation, including many of the hometown offices of Bush’s enablers in Congress, both national political conventions and symbolic and historic locations like New Orleans and Crawford, TX.
