From Jim Esch for Congress:

Participants Hold Terry Accountable for Shameful Record on Veterans’ Issues

OMAHA, Neb. – On Friday, congressional candidate Jim Esch joined Nebraska Senator and Medal of Honor recipient Bob Kerrey and local veterans to unveil “Veterans for Esch.” Senator Kerrey announced he will serve as the Honorary Chairman of “Veterans for Esch.”

“I’m proud to be joined today by so many local veterans and especially Medal of Honor recipient Senator Bob Kerrey, who has graciously agreed to be the Honorary Chair of ‘Veterans for Esch,” said Jim Esch.

The participants at the event highlighted the need to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans and to hold Congressman Terry accountable for his shameful voting record on veterans’ issues.

“As the son of a combat-wounded Vietnam Veteran, I understand the critical importance of standing up for our fighting men and women and their families, particularly during these tough economic times,” said Esch. “I look forward to going to Congress to fight for the care and benefits our nation’s veterans deserve and will not hesitate to cross the aisle to reverse the failed policies of President Bush and Congressman Terry.”

“I am pleased to stand here today with Jim Esch, because ‘Veterans for Esch’ are ‘Veterans for Change,’ and Washington needs to change,” said Bob Kerrey. “Jim understands the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder with our veterans and serving our returning heroes as well as they have served us.”
