LB 555 More than Doubles R&D Tax Credit
LINCOLN, Neb. – State Senator Tom White’s bill increasing the tax credit available for research and development conducted at Nebraska universities and colleges was signed into law today by the Governor.
“Whether at the Peter Kiewit Institute at UNO, Creighton Medical School, or, soon, the innovation campus at UNL, research and development has the potential to create the jobs of the future right here in Nebraska,” said White. “I’m glad Governor Heineman joined me and my colleagues in the Legislature in taking this important step toward an innovation-based economy.”
LB 555 increases the R&D tax credit from 15% to 35% of the federal credit allowed under section 41 of the IRS code for research conducted at colleges or universities in Nebraska. It was prioritized by State Senator Heath Mello.
