Lincoln, NE – Nebraska Democratic Party chairman Vic Covalt today urged Democrats across the state to call in to a recently created hotline from the state GOP. “The party of no is clever with gimmicks and is thinking they have created a gotcha moment,” Covalt said. “But the joke’s on them. The only gotcha moment here is after six terms void of leadership by Congressman Terry the GOP needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Terry’s recent back turning vote on our men and women in uniform is just another example in a long line of Terry failing the people of Nebraska.”

“In fact,” Covalt continued, “I find it interesting that even before Tom White announced his intentions to provide true leadership in Washington and honorable representation of Nebraskans living in the 2nd District, Mark Fahleson and Lee Terry are continuing their childish ways and gotcha games of the past.”

In a news release from July 2, 2009, “Hotline Available to Report Divisive Tactics of Democrat Tom White”, the State GOP has set up a call in number for the upcoming 2010 campaign cycle. The hotline was set up as a venue for individuals to call in and report Tom White. The call in number is 402.441.0799.

“We are encouraging folks to call in and ask, what leadership has Lee Terry offered?” Covalt said. “The recent account of Terry hurling an expletive at a passing driver is unbecoming conduct of a Nebraskan that is supposed to be representing us in Washington. It’s a disgrace to say the least.

“Fahleson can kick it off right by reporting Lee Terry and his lewd behavior.”
