LJS: Legislative session begins Wednesday

“The short session, 60 days of work expected to end April 14, is actually a continuation of last year’s session. So the 290 bills not killed by committees last year carry over to this year.

“Senators are expected to start debate Monday on a bill that will allow people who sell liquor or cigarettes to scan some of the machine-readable information on driver’s licenses. The bill (LB261) is sponsored by Sen. Kent Rogert of Tekamah.
