OWH: Dems' rally set for Friday
Mar 25, 11:14 AM CST
A Democratic Party political rally sponsored by Latino and black caucuses will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Firefighters Hall, 60th and Grover Streets.
Speakers at the event, open to the public, will include Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle, Omaha City Councilman Garry Gernandt, Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing and community activists.
“The idea is to get the north Omaha and south Omaha corridor fired up for the election,” said Larry Bradley, a candidate for the Nebraska Legislature’s District 10 seat who is the co-sponsor of the event.
Political candidates in races including the Omaha School Board and state offices will attend.
Radio Lobo will broadcast live from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and entertainment will include Mariachi performers, Irish music from the Turfmen, Native American drummers and other bands and singers.
