LJS: Mike Meister officially joins Nebraska governor's race

A self-described country lawyer from Scottsbluff has made his candidacy for governor in Nebraska official by filing paperwork at the Capitol.
Mike Meister is a 49-year-old trial lawyer and Democrat who on Thursday formally replaced Mark Lakers as the party’s candidate to challenge Republican Gov. Dave Heineman.
