  1. Hmmm… perhaps she’s still interested in that Lt. Governor gig?

  2. Wow….this is the wackiest damn thing I’ve heard in quite a while.

If she’ll give us a chance, we’re happy to do the same for her.

HA! Who says a Democrat hasn’t held a statewide constitutional office since 1998! Look at us now!

Certainly a surprising (and intriguing) way to kick-off the state convention.

  3. The Lincoln Journal-Star quotes former Nebraka GOP Executive Director and current Pete Ricketts campaign manager/mudslinger-in-chief Jessica Moenning (08/03/2005):

“Kate Witek always has been a role model for me.”

    Just imagine the possibilities.

  4. Let me be one of the first to say “welcome to the party.”

  5. Witek for Senate 2008 or Governor 2010?

You finally have a credible candidate for higher office! AWESOME!

  6. Great. Another “Ben Nelson/Joe Lieberman” Democrat. Just what we need.
Wow. Its sad this state can’t do better.

  7. Any question as to Kate Witek will run for auditor in 2006?

Bears a striking resemblance to this very site?!?

  8. Democrats are in trouble. If enough people like this become democrats, democrats may actually start winning elections again.

She would make a good candidate for governor in 2010 and a good candidate to replace Hagel whenever he retires.

  9. She’s a no-good pro life war monger who we don’t need in our party. to me she is just playing our side to help her get on the ballot. We need to read between the lines here.

  10. I switched from the GOP to the Democratic party this year. As Charles Barkley recently said: “I was a Republican until they lost their minds.”

  11. There are hundreds of thousands of intelligent, free-thinking, patriotic traditional Republicans who feel abandoned by their corrupted, extremist, failed leadership.
The door to the Democratic Party swings really wide, and our Welcome mat is more than just a tool to scrape the BS off the shoes.
Welcome Kate. Bring friends and family. You’re going to like it here.

  12. Kicked out of 1 party and and loses with another party. Preview of the Nov Headlines for Kate Witek.

  13. At least Kate now has the RIGHT party! Most republicians are running away from the IDIOT and his administration’s STUPID policies! See http://johndavidhunt007.com

  14. Perhaps Ms. Witek agrees with Sen Hagel’s Sunday talk show comments?
“Hagel asked: “Where is the fiscal responsibility of the party I joined in ‘68? Where is the international engagement of the party I joined _ fair, free trade, individual responsibility, not building a bigger government, but building a smaller government?

I doubt that Ms. Wiek and Sen Hagel are the only persons who believe the GOP has lost its way.

  15. Perhaps we should invite Senator Hagel to break ranks, see the light, and become a Democrat. It could be the beginning of a trend.
At the very least he could begin to vote in line with his party and remain consistent with his statements on the Sunday morning talk shows. ;-)
