President’s Budget Ignores Concerns of Nebraska’s Working Families
Wed, Feb 7 08:18 AM CST
According to a new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, President Bush’s 2008 budget will cut millions of dollars from critical education, health care, homeland security, and law enforcement programs in Nebraska. While the President’s $2.9 trillion budget does little to address the rising economic insecurities that middle class Americans are facing, it slashes millions from programs that are essential to thousands of Nebraskans. President Bush’s new budget shows that he continues to ignore the will of the American people and by advancing a radical agenda that has already been rejected by the vast majority of the American people. After all, a Newsweek poll last week found that 58 percent of American simply want the Bush Presidency to end.

Monie has been a great deal of help over the entire weekend. Here she is with the kitchen area that she generously organized.

Thank You Nebraska,
This evening I spoke directly to callers from across Nebraska and answered questions in an event all organized through the Internet. A great first for me, and, for political discourse in the State of Nebraska.
I have committed myself to make this campaign about realistic dialogue and not the normal political monologue that comes at us each election season. This telephone call session was part of that commitment.
So, thank you all for listening.
For more information you can check out my website at www.HahnForNebraska.org and www.nebraskademocrats.org. On my site, you can sign up for an email newsletter and contact me, too.Have a great evening.

Nebraska Democrats Take a Stand on Energy Crises
Mon, Oct 17 01:52 PM CST
This morning, the NDP held a well-attended news conference outlining a positive new vision for a more energy independent Nebraska. Nebraskans have been burdened this fall by high gas prices and await the looming threat of high heating bills as our temperatures drop. Nebraska’s Republican leadership shows no interest in making the changes necessary to protect Nebraskans from these rising costs. In fact, our state’s Republican leadership would rather sit around and watch as other states run laps around us in their attempts to cultivate new energy technologies. Nebraska Democrats are taking a stand on energy – and propose new policies that will economic development to rural Nebraska, while making us a national leader in the production of alternative energies.

Mon, Aug 8 04:14 PM CST
Hello Nebraska Democrats! This is my first blog post since coming to Nebraska, and I’d like to fill you in on a little about myself and what the field department is working on at the NDP Headquarters.

I’m from Watertown, South Dakota and spent the last two years working for Tom Daschle’s re-election campaign. But, enough about me – I want to learn more about you, your counties, your communities, and your ideas on how we can effectively coordinate the “93 County Strategy” in your area.
