Nebraska Democrats Celebrate Past, Look to Future with Hope: Senator Bob Kerrey Headlines Annual Event
OMAHA, Neb. – Former Nebraska Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey gave the keynote address this evening for the Nebraska Democratic Party’s annual Morrison-Exon Dinner at the Hilton Omaha.
More than 500 Democrats from throughout the state gathered to celebrate recent successes and to honor fellow Party members for their devoted service through the years. Celebrated guests included Hall of Fame Award winners Mayor Coleen Seng and Congressman Peter Hoagland, with a special message from Senator Ben Nelson.
The Morrison-Exon Dinner is the largest annual fundraiser for the Nebraska Democratic Party and pays tribute to two great Nebraskans, former Nebraska Governor Frank Morrison and U.S. Senator J.J. Exon.
“Every year we feel the support and enthusiasm that builds in this state,” said Matt Connealy, Executive Director of the Nebraska Democratic Party. “Democrats are passionate about our potential and are energized to continue moving this state forward.”
