Connealy Statement on Bruning Announcement

LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Democratic Party Executive Director Matt Connealy issued the following statement this evening following Jon Bruning’s announcement:

“It’s disappointing to see Washington outsiders continue to play such a disruptive role in Nebraska politics. Nebraskans, not outsiders, should decide who is best suited to represent our state.”

“A little over a year ago, Nebraskans elected Jon Bruning to serve as our state’s Attorney General. The people of this state deserve an Attorney General who works tirelessly to seek justice, not fame and sound bites.”

“We continue our discussions with Scott Kleeb and a number of other individuals who have expressed interest in seeking the Democratic nomination for Senate. We are confident that we will have at least one qualified candidate in the race soon.”
