How to get there:
To be a delegate to State Convention, you must be elected by your County Convention. County Conventions will be held in the first ten days of June but most have yet to be scheduled. You can find a list of scheduled county conventions here.
The total number of delegates from each county is determined by taking into account each county’s share of the total number of registered Democrats, the number of votes cast for the Democrat in the last Governor’s race (Hahn, 2006) and the number of votes cast for the Democrat in the last Presidential race (Kerry, 2004). Better performing counties get more delegates.
The delegates from each county are apportioned as fairly as possible between the candidates for President according to the results of that county’s caucus. For instance, if a county is allotted four delegates to State Convention, and both candidates received 50% of the caucus vote on February 9, then both candidates will get two delegates to State Convention from that county.
Please note that, as with all NDP activities, gender balance must be observed.
The number of delegates allotted to each county and the number of delegates for each candidate can be found on this spreadsheet. Please note that these numbers may change as legislative district adjustments are made.
Please call the NDP office (402-434-2180) with any questions.
